I am looking for a video projector I can plug into my pc laptop.

I would like to keep it under 400$ while still getting a new, good brand. Anyone have experience or reccomendations? Is 400 too cheap?

  1. only depends on the size of the screen and screen

resolution . Bigger resolution, better picture. Any projector with (DLP) technology  in it is the best cause they make picture and movie sharper as ever

  2. BenQ MP610 DLP Projector gets good reviews and is under $300.

$400 is awfully cheap.  Depends on what you are going to do with it.  Home theater?  PC Screen replacement?  Computer-Based Presentations?

You can find a number of projectors under $1,000.

  3. Since the lamp alone sells for $300+ your proposed $400 price for a projector is pretty low. That said, there are sometimes discontinued and refurbished models in that price range. Just note that most will be "business projectors" -- meaning they are not going to give as good a picture with movies/video as a "home theatre" model. The difference is mainly in the video processing and in the emphasis on contrast ratio (usually low on a business model). The 1st link is to one good source.

See the second link for reviews and projector info so you can check up on any models you find in your price range.

  4. Check out NEWEGG.com as they have feedback from people that have actually bought the different makes, models, and used them, telling you the good and bad of each model, and its limitations.

Also $400.00 sounds a little below the standard for having any real selection.

Presentation (DATA) projectors tend to be more expensive. Check out what Presenters (using powerpoint) are using 'cause they are hooking them up to laptops, and have been doing so for much longer than the HTPC rage has been going on.

  5. depends for what apllicatio??? if its for home theatre aplication look no further than optomo HD 65,,its value for money!!---abt 900$
