If I order a swimsuit online and it arrives at my house when I'm not home, does it get left on my porch or do I have to go to the post office to pick it up?

  1. If something requires a signature, they will make you go and sign for it.  I doubt a swimsuit requires a signature, so it will most likely be left at your door.

  2. it will probably get left on your porch, but you should be able to put a note on your door asking them not to leave packages if you'd rather pick it up.

  3. Depends on who delivers it. FedEx and UPS will just leave it on porch. If USPS (the post office) delivers it and can't fit it in your mailbox then you'll have to go to PO to pick it up.  USPS cannot legally leave it at your door. They have to put it in an approved mail box or mail slot.

  4. Unless you have to sign for it, they should just leave it.

  5. If you call the post office and tell them what you want they will do it. Other wise is gets dropped off.

  6. My rural carrier leaves it between the screen and storm door.  If too large for that, she leaves a postcard stating to pick up at post office.

  7. You have to go to the post office to pick it up.
