Can anyone answer my rose question?

My roses blooms are very small, like teacup roses. They are usually big and full. Also the leaves are turning yellow and falling off of some of the bushes. Lastly, the blooms only last for like a day before dying. HELP!

  1. Are you watering them enough and giving them fertilizer? Have you mulched them? It really sounds like they are lacking in one of these things.

Usually not a serious problem.  Leaves turn yellow due to a lack of iron, nitrogen, manganese or magnesium, or a salt buildup. Add chelated iron to the soil, or in severe cases, spray iron sulfate on foliage.  Apply a solution of Epsom salts and water to the soil during the season.

Here is a couple of links that I hope will help.

  2. sounds like they have gotten off their 'feed'.

here's a pretty good site about encouraging healty roses

give them a good drink, 1/4 cup of epsom salts per bush, check and make sure the yellow leaves isn't due to black spot, spider mites or mildew. I give mine a dose of timed released fertilizer every 6 weeks.

Don't be shy about pruning them in the spring.
