Can anyone answer my skype question?

I've visited the internet on Skype and I'm hearing all wonderful things about it that seems way to good to be true and if anyone knows can you please tell me? What if you had Skype and you called a non skype customer, will it cost you extra? What if you already have high speed internet through your phone company and then you switched over to skype? Will you loose you internet service?

If you already have high-speed Internet service, you are set to go.

Just download and install Skype software.

Get a good headset with microphone.

Start talking in 10 minutes to your friends that also have Skype.

Buy the SkypeOut Credits with credit card or PayPal to call landline phones and mobiles/cells.

Or, buy Skype Unlimited subscriptions for unlimited calling to landlines and mobiles/cells.

It's straight forward and easy.

I've used Skype for over 3 years.  It works.  And, the latest version is better than ever.  The only difference between now and 3 years ago... it was free then, now it costs just a little bit more...

First of all calling to any Skype to Skype user is free whether the user is from a international country or here in the United States.  

However if the person you are calling is a non skype user and you call to a landline or to their cell phone then it will cost you.  Skype has unlimited monthly plans for $2.95 a month unlimited calls to anywhere in the United States.  If you want to call to a international country skype has plans internationally for $9.95 a month to any 36 countries.  If you want strictly to make unlimited calls to Mexico it will cost you $5.95 a month.  This is the breakdown in pricing webpage.

Skype service requires that you have internet service broadband (DSL or Cable internet).  If you have your internet through your phone company then Skype will not work if you have no internet service or cancel your internet.  Remember Skype is not a internet service but a software voice calling that needs a constant connection to your internet service and you can purchase a USB phone or a headset microphone connected to your computer to be able to communicate and place calls throught their service.
