The Army Corps of Engineers built a six foot high wall constructed out of over 500,000 sandbags over a month ago to help fight flooding in Winfield, Missouri. Kudos to them for putting up the wall, but the members of the small community are overwhelmed with the task at hand... Take down a six foot high wall built by the military out of 500,000 sandbags. Why hasn't the Army taken care of this already, or at least offered to assist in the clean-up?

  1. they just did.

  2. Heard figure years ago each sandbag cost 1.25 Give someone dollar for ever re-usable bag handed in, and let them sell sand, and wall will be gone in days.

  3. How sad what an ungreatful posting - perhaps they should not build it next time!!

Having been saved huge expense and tragedy you now want to criticise the army!!!

Be greatful and pay for it out of local community funds!!!

  4. WHAT MATTERS IS THE SPIRIT.OUR ARMY SPIRIT IS DETERMINED. IF THERE IS NECESSITY AND URGENCY THEY WOULD HAVE DONE THAT.

  5. why should they, let the community put a few jail inmates out there to work. when the army is called out to help it doesn't mean they should have to do it all that's why we should use our jail inmates and prisons to do the work that no one has time for this gives them a chance to give back to the community

  6. Contact your Congressman, he or she should be able to help.
