Are you talking about Diamond or Pearl, Sapphire or Ruby, and Leaf-Green or Fire-Red? Because in Sapphire, you'll get weak Pokemon from it. But the way I used is: I borrowed two Pokemon from my Fire-Red Fearow and Persian in both level 100. Then, it's easy to defeat the Pokemon League. and there's another way, keep on defeating any Eites, never give Potions to any of your Pokemons untill they reach to level 56 or any on 60's. So you can defeat Steven's Metagross easily in Ruby and Sapphire, Lance's Milotic in Emerald. This could help u. Really, I tryed this many times in my Fire-Red, Diamond, and Sapphire.
