Question:

Can anyone build muscle or is it mainly genetics?

i'm 5''11 and weigh 160 pounds..i was wondering if i could get up to 190 pounds by the time im 19, i'm 16 now..and really would like to get muscular..help me out in any way please.

  1. Yes of course anyone can build muscle but where the difference comes in is the amount of muscle one can build and how fast one can build muscle which is, of course, determined by our genes.

    Low testosterone can seriously impede muscle growth because muscle growth is sparked off by the release of testosterone into the blood stream.

  2. it is about 50-50,  some people can build muscles easy than others because of their genetics, but everyone can build  muscles.  Just start working out and it will be fine.

  3. It is some of both. Anyone can get stronger and/or bigger, but there seem to be inherent limits built into each person.

    For example, you can increase the size of the muscle fibers that you have, but the total number of fibers never changes after birth (I was told by a nurse), so there is an inherent limit as to how big you can ultimately get.

    But don't worry about it. Just work out and get as big as you can. That is all that you can do.

Sure you can do, its part genetics but its part your self to build muscle, anyone can work out as long they put it on their schduele and try, my friend is shorter then you and hes about 187 muscle build. all you have to do is just keep doing heavy weights and eat more, the more you eat the more it will help turn into muscle and gain more weight to gain more muscle. Genetics is something but anyone can actually sit down and work out.

  5. Yes you can. It isn't that hard if you just work out 3-4 days a week. Try this. 2 sets of

    Standard push ups 10-15

    Pull ups Max amount

    Military push ups 10-15

    Chin ups max amount

    Wide push ups 10-15

    Close grip pull ups Max amount

    Decline Push ups 10-15

    Do that twice 3 times a week and you will get to 190 lbs in less than a year. Diet also has some to do with it so eat a lot of protein

  6. This can be achieved by a lot of training:fat weighs less then muscle:so if you replace the fat on your body by muscle your weight will go up.To get muscular you need to go to a gym.They have all the equipment you need .

  7. hmm...30 pounds of muscle in 3 years?  sure...this is possible.. but you'd better call roger clements, jose cansaco, or mcnamee to get thier contacts..cause that's the only way your packing on 30 pounds of muscle before you reach 23.  

  8. Any one willing to put in the effort to build muscles the "right way" can have them.  Just start slow and do it RIGHT!
