  1. you'll have to fly to dublin airport. its not far to drive according to google maps its 45.5 km/ 28miles – about 40 mins

  2. You would fly to Dublin Airport

it doesnt take long to get to Punchestown (Racecourse) from any given point in Dublin

Punchestown is Co. Kildare, which neighbours Dublin, so its not far at all

40 mins at the most (30 miles approx)

    .........................................

Here's some tips! i hope they help! (and sorry if i scare you lol)............

If you are camping (and is there any other way?), if possible try and arrange your tents in some sort of circular fashion with all the doors facing the middle and a space in the middle for you to hang out/drink etc. This means you have a more private area than most and have less chance of people literally walking over you while you are resting/sleeping/ whitying etc.

Do not bring anything valuable, unless you are prepared to lose it. I wouldn't bring that brand new i-pod and speakers if you have an old tape deck lying around, it does the same job and no-one will touch it.

If you find someone pissing or going to p**s against your tent, one sharp kick up the **** will set them on their way again, probably with their lad in their hand.

If said person is a woman, abandon kick-up-the-**** technique, take woman by the hand, sit her down and talk about what just happened.

For those people that do not drink much, be prepared to not get much sleep.

If you can't hold your drink, do not waste your weekend by getting hammered on Friday night. Don't treat it like a day of drinking just because you're at a festival. You will wake up on Saturday and just feel like lying in your tent all day, which isn't really worth the admission. By all means, drink and be merry, suffer a little the next day, but be careful, don't ruin your weekend.

See some bands you have never heard of. This is my favourite bit of a festival, walking into the new band stage when you don't even know who is on. I saw the White Stripes at about 2 o clock in the smallest tent one year and they were great. I still had no idea who they were because they didn't introduce themselves or anything, I just recognised them about a year later.

For the smaller bands who have been getting a bit of press lately, you will have to be there early to get in. The thrills a few years ago played one of the smaller tents and you couldn't even get near the entrance.

Bringing a tambourine will not make you popular.

Do not climb the scaffolding. The entire crowd will shout for you to jump.

Oxegen is a notoriously poorly organised festival. Just be prepared to be told to turn around and walk right round some sort of circus when you are right beside the stage, just because of their "one-way" system. The walk from campsite to stage seems to take forever. The times for bands are always late, like at any festival.

The food is actually ok, in my experience, although heavily overpriced. If you want a change from meat and chips, check out the veggie burgers or falafels - unusually filling.

Be prepared for sun and rain. Don't bring your favourite t-shirt because it will get either mud/ beer/ sun cream/ sweaty sun cream/ sweaty mud/ spunk/all of the above on it.

Bring suitable clothing and loads of socks, nothing is worse than having cold feet and there’s nothing better than having dry warm feet if your cold lol.

Bring as much spirits as u can, carrying beer is a bit of ***** especially if your carrying it for a 15 min walk to where your setting up camp with a heavy rucksack.Forget beer!, and everyone knows that spirits are wayyyy better craic and also you wont pee as much compared to when you are drinkin beer lol)

Set your tent up as soon as u decide where your camping, don’t start drinking first (failure to comply with this one results in people sleeping outside on the ground, after a valiant 2hours of effort to pitch your tent whist blocked, then KO-ing realising there was no hope).

Bring high sugar foods such as chocolate (NUTELLA!!!) and energy drinks, these are the boost you will need when you wake up due to a busy, late night which you will encounter lol.

Bring body and face wipes (these will be the closest thing to a shower you’ll have, really like no joke!).

Keep a tidy tent (this will give you a since of accomplishment lol) but do not keep a tidy camp, because nobody would steal anything from a dirty camp, it’s the best form of security, you know it’s true!

Take loads of photos cause you won’t remember everything that happened! And make sure you go and see your favourite band even tho if you go by yourself, you’ll meet new friends I promise. You’ll regret if you don’t go see your favourite band!

    Buy a t-shirt, a nice one

Bring sunglasses, this way if you doze off there will be less chance of our mates noticing your asleep and pissing on your face as part of a really bad practical joke.

Do not pass any form of fluids from your body near your camp, (failure to comply with this one results in not to many happy campers, and also your mates will slag you about it for the following years if you throw up outside their tent).

Don’t do drugs …………………… embrace them with open arms lol....joke!

Stay away from naked people, because naked people always have a big fat naked friend which you just dont have to see!

Bring and erect a distinctive flag, this will be your “North Star” of the weekend!

Pace yourself when drinking, or get blocked in the first hour, both are good!

    Have fun!!

    despite this....oxegen is AMAZING

    you wont be disappointed!

  3. Fly into Dublin, Punchestown is near Naas, County Kildare, which isn't that far from Dublin.

  4. Punchestown is approximately 50 kilometres (31 miles) driving distance from Dublin airport.  (See the Route Planner From Dublin Airport to Punchestown Racecourse below).

If you want to use public transport to Punchestown, Dublin Bus operate a special shuttle service to the concert from  Dublin city centre departing every 20 minutes.  The local bus, 16A from the airport  is  cheaper than the Airlink bus and will bring you to the shuttle departure area in Parnell Square. Enjoy the concert!

  5. It's 19 and a half miles from dublin to punchestown
