Can anyone connect me to a site that can give me the Rail road routes across the United states?

I need to plan to different trips across the United States by train. I need to know what cities have a train route to where. i have been looking on google to find it but i had no luck. thanks!

As has been suggested, you have only one choice in the United States if you wish to travel by train between cities: Amtrak, the Federally-chartered corporation that provides such service.  It doesn't go to every city, but it does provide at least a basic route structure.

If you go to the Amtrak website:

http://www.amtrak.com

and then click on "Routes", you come up with a map showing Amtrak's routes across the country.

If you'd like to know more about traveling on Amtrak, I highly recommend a website built by some friends of mine:

and then click on "Amtrak Travel Tips".  They also have a forum where you can post questions.

Being that Amtrak is the ONLY passenger railroad that goes across the United States, my recommendation would be to type AMTRAK into a search engine.
