I've been a windows user since windows 95..

I realize Mac and PC are actually both PC's. They are made of the same parts.. and you can actually get laptops with more muscle for buck outside of apple.

I realize windows is written for thousands of computers and OSX is written for like 2 computers.

There are only a few programs that come with OSX that you can't get for free online. I probably wouldn't use these programs.

I have Vista now, and despite everyone's rage against it, It actually never freezes, it never crashed, it has no spyware (spybot sd picks up nothing) , and there are very few programs that wont run on it that I know of.

I got my laptop from Dell, it's an XPS paid 1500 for it and for the same specks from Mac I would have had to pay 2000 and they would not finance it for me and Dell would, I paid it off in two months..

To me the simple fact is, I have more choices with PC's, I can look at more products.. For instance I want my next laptop to have HDMI, Only Dell has that. Mac has all these special plugs that require you to buy more products from them, and that to me is annoying.

PC's with windows tend to get along with the world better, Macs with OSX tend to get along with other mac products better..

Anyone feel me? I want my moneys worth for what I need.. I'm not a trend setter.

  1. Non-biased independent organizations have stated the following: Macintosh computers have the highest rated tech support (Consumer Reports etc.), Macintosh computers have the highest level of customer satisfaction (10 points higher than Dell), Macintosh computers have the highest resale value, Macintosh computers cost the same as other PCs when you compare the hardware and software which is included, Macintosh computers at the current time have no viruses to worry about (there are no released MacOs X viruses, there are over 120,000 Windows viruses), right now over 65% of the computers being sold in the USA which cost over $1000 are Macs, over 50% of the laptops being sold for college use are Macs, "Plans to buy Apple products at all-time high, survey shows" ["A survey of more than 4,400 people between August 4 and August 12 conducted by RBC Capital Markets and ChangeWave Research showed that 34% plan to buy a Mac laptop in the next 90 days, compared with 31% in May. Those planning to buy a Mac desktop rose to 30% from 27%. Meanwhile, 81% of those who recently bought an Apple product in the past 90 days were 'very satisfied,' while only 58% Dell Inc. buyers and 55% Hewlett-Packard Co. buyers said the same." Apple's market share in the USa is over 8% and should be 10% by next year.

  2. Apple builds/designs both the hardware and operating system for the Mac - there are 13 models of Mac all up including the laptop range.

You can run Windows on your Mac - if your desperate.

    Macs have the better software.

Check out this guide to Mac and see what you think

I have been a Mac user since 2000 and would NEVER go back to Windows.

The Dell XPS you bought didn't come with iLife08. Macs have HDMI. Macs are easy to network with PCs. You don't need to be a "trend setter" to get a Mac, you just need to be someone who wants to enjoy  computing.
