I work at a summer camp, and every monday we do "monday intros", and this coming monday we are doing an around the decades intro. My groups decade is the 1960s. We have to do a little game/skit from our decade... it has to be creative.

Some of my ideas:

dressing like hippis

throwing flowers and the kids

spinning around in circles

and like thats about it.

any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!

  1. Check out what happened in the 1960's: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1960%27s and see if anything inspires you.

  2. sit round in a circle, chanting. hahahahahaha.

  3. play that funky music!!! lol

  4. oh my gosh! kids love confetti

  5. Flower Power... that's really all I can think of... I'll come back if I figure out more.

    Edit:

    Bell Bottom Pants

    Hula hoops

Ah c**p you kind of mentioned that already.... throwing flowers... and the kids?? LOL... explain that one.

  6. Well, maybe have the kids watch a couple of videos of '60s celebrities at their worst, or at really awkward moments. When finished, have each kid try to duplicate a celeb's actions. I think this should be great at taking each individual and seeing how well they can act as someone really ridiculous. If the kids are really into acting, this should really be interesting. Especially if the celebrities back then are anything like the ones today.

I hope you have a great time!

  7. Have them listen to music

  8. the hippi ideas good cause u can have the kids sit in circles and pass a ball to each other and give them fruit punch

  9. lol your idea is pretty creative....it would be funny to watch.

um I say the hippie idea is creative, some of you could have afros lol.

But instead of spinning around in circles, why don't you do a short, disco dance?  the kids would be more entertained, and they would laugh more than watching you spin around  in circles.

You could do the flowers, or you can throw candy at them instead....just don't throw it at their heads or faces xD.

    Have fun! hope i helped.

  10. create something around the theme of peace.  that would be relevant and educational at the same time.  you could think of a short kids song about peace or create a skit by having them each say one line about it.  or even just a skit with one line each about the 60's in general.  accompany this with costumes.  go to a dollar store or party favor store, I've seen stuff like plastic peace sign or happy face necklaces/buttons, you could pass them out to your group as a common prop/costume item.

  11. Sounds fun!

You could always...re-write the lyrics to "Puff the Magic Dragon" or "All You Need is Love", so their relevant to the camp, and sing your version while circling and holding hands.

Don't forget the headbands, armbands and face-painting.

  12. dress up like special people who were noticed in the 1960s.

and then do a fun explanation of each.

then do some hula hooping with the kids.

and have them make little crafts of flowers to show flower power.
