  1. Absolutly!

  2. Well, what is the trick? And if you believe we "the product of evolution" couldn't conceive the idea of a god or gods, apparently you are wrong. We have many gods. So, your mindset is a little confusing. You believe in evolution, yet you wonder how we could conceive god. Maybe both are possible.

  3. I believe that gods of all types were invented by the mind to explain things that were not understood its not the god that helps man its the belief of a higher power that has eased mankind in to a higher level of intelligence "i can do this or that with the lord by my side" kind of belief

  4. I think people just believe in what ever it takes to survive in this world whether through religion or spirit or whatever else.

  5. I deny that.

  6. Of course a product of evolution would conceive the idea of a god. In fact, it is inevitable. Is it a trick? Only in the cosmic sense.

  7. Gota control the great unwashed hordes some how.  Just suffer through this life and you'll get your reward in heaven!   Seems to be working!

  8. They can't prove that it isn't and you can't prove that it is.

  9. Depends on what kind of "god" you're talking about. Humans always have a god. Our families and friends, our livelihood, our goals (especially) are all gods to us. We feel inadequate on our own (perceivably so), so we place our faith and heart into something else. So, for whatever reason, humans have gods. But if you want to talk about the idea of a higher being, a supreme god, and if you're planning on making the religious appear ignorant and anti-evolution, then you've killed you're argument. WHY would a product of evolution conceive the idea of a supreme god? Well, it may be because one exists.

  10. If it's not a trick it's gotta be a big ol' treat . But don't mix up God with religion .

  11. its to complex to figure out with the data we have now.

    evolution might do that,

but if you look at all the evidence from a completely neutral point of view, then it really looks like there is the physical infrastructure for religion on a different dimension that is somewhat accessible to us.

  12. I don't understand why they can't both go hand in hand. Why choose between the two?

  13. i dont believe anything till i get suffecient proof.

  14. Good & Bad. Religion and God. Life has its complexities. What do you want to argue about, there is some much to choose from.

  15. What happened did they get tired of this c**p in the religion section?

  16. The problem to answering this question is your definition of religion. Man has always used a form of religion to answer something that could not be explained or feared based on the belief held in common by the members of their community, or to unify their culture by forcing a belief on the majority of people for politics, whether it is Christianity, Druidism, Atheism or other beliefs. If you have ever read Huxley's "Brave New World", the society realized the test tube babies in their culture needed a "Father" for comfort, so this Brave New World worshiped Ford, the inventor of the assembly line.

On the matter of evolution I wonder about Government leaders and hot button issues. If I wanted to flame the passions of a great number of people, why not promote God and evolution? The two sides, those that believe the bible, and those that believe everything is explained by science, would be so busy fighting over the evolution topic, the Government leaders could move other ideas very quickly without notice. Individuals in the middle of the question would be so turned off by the passionate fighting between the bible and science, these middle individuals would ignore the politics.

  17. the trick is to show evlution is real. Science cannot show one thing on this planet that has evolved. They can draw dot to dot pics using pieces and parts of this and that. Its a nicely wrapped up little theory that has been widely accepted as fact by science even though it has never been proven as fact. As far as gods go, hey thats up to you whether you believe or not, Darwins last words were asking God forgiveness before he died, thats a fact, look it up.

  18. if that  is the case, therefore social structures  can also be a big ol' tricks, since religion is a fundamental part-;,/ and evolution,-

should fall too in another the big ol' trick...category

  19. Religion had a very important role in our evolution.  It provided something in common within a culture.  It provided answers before science was ever around.  It did a lot of things.  However, now that we are better able to understand our surroundings it has become less important.  Civilized cultures have seen the importance of religion diminish.  Unfortunately we still have cultures that live as if they're in the Neolithic Era, so religion will still be with us for a while.
