I think this is the case, but I have to check. I am out of the country, trying to pay from my U.S. account into the U.S. account of another person who is also out of the country. Can I send a check, made out to my friend, to a family member in the U.S. and have them deposit it at my friend's bank? Please answer quickly because this is time-critical.

  1. Do not understand "unsigned check".

    Un-endorsed check can be deposited;

    but unsigned check has no value.

    Suggesting you to get the bank account # + router # (9 digits?) at the bottom of the check; the same as your;

    call your bank and have the amount transfered from yours to your friend's account. Faster and easier.

  2. It must be signed by the person its issued to. Good luck.

  3. Yes you can... depending on the bank and the client, the bank may withhold funds until they clear (usually 7-10 days), but as long as it's only a deposit, there is no problem.

  4. Yes, as long as it's a straight deposit with no cash back.

  5. Yes anybody can make a deposit into somebody else's account. It is only when somebody tries to take money out that it is a problem, or if they only want to deposit a partial amount (get money back). But I could deposit money into a strangers account.

  6. The check isn't worth anything if it isn't signed
