I have a Razr phone unlocked and I am going to Mexico (Hermosillo) for 5 months. Any recommendations of companies? What kind of rates would I get calling the U.S?

  1. Its a small card which contain your mobile number, address book etc.  It is also known as the brains of your phone.  U can even take it out and put it into another phone.

  2. If i where you i would go with nextel they get good service

  3. Essentially Sim cards store certain cellular phone provider's information and yours as well. For example, AT&T phones have the sim card which must be present in order for the phone to actually connect to their wireless network. So to use your actual phone, and to get a signal, you need the card plugged in. It will also store your personal settings of your phone (your address book, images, etc.) If you switch providers, you'll want to make sure that you go to one that actually uses Sim cards. What you can do if you switch carriers and the new one doesn't take sim cards is have them switch the information off your card into your new phone. I did this at Verizon when I switched from AT&T.

In terms of dialing from Mexico to the U.S. it could vary depending on your rate plan structure. I know with our old Cellular One plan, it was around 35 cents a minute without an international dialing plan on your account. The international dialing plan usually lowers the calling rate to around 15 cents a minute, but again, this will vary depending on your cellular provider.

  4. you'd better call your loves ones  using yahoo messenger, is far more cheaper.

calling from a mobile phone in mexico could be highly expensive from mexico.
