Can anyone explain a dynasty league to me?

I'm thinking of taking on a 2nd year dynasty football team that someone didnt want and I'm a little confused. As much detail as possible please.

Well if your taking over somone elses team then you will take that persons roster that they had at the end of last year. And how ever many people your commishiner says you keep, you will keep going into the next year. Take my dynasty league for example. You hae a 17 man roster and at the end of the year you keep 10 and only draft 7 for the next year. The amount of people you keep can range from anywhere from 1 to as many as the comishiner says. So when you draft for the next season try to draft young rookies that will help you in following seasons to come. Hope this helped
