  1. Blind = a bet made before seeing your cards.

It's different from an ante, because the players who are not making the blinds have the option to fold without paying.

In hold'em, the two players to the left of the button make blind bets.

As the button goes around the table, the players take turns making the blinds.

  2. Blinds, big and little, are simply prepaid ANTE bets that are placed before the cards are dealt.  If the table minimum bet is $2 then the 'big' blind is $2 and the little is $1.  This simply ensures that there is a pot for every hand.  It is called a 'blind' because you are betting before you see your cards, or 'blind'.  It rotates around the table so everyone takes their turn at being the big and little blind.  You'll find lots of great poker tips at http://GamblingReviewsSite.com/pokertips  It's %100 free too.

  4. blinds in texas hold'em are basically a required bet for the two people left of the dealer... for example if me,you, john and smith were playing, and i was dealer, you would be small blind, john would be big blind...if it was $1-$2 dollar blinds, that means you are requried to throw in $1 before the cards are even delt, and john would have to throw in $2... in order for me and smith to play our hands we would have to match what the big blind was by throwing in $2, and since you are the small blind in order to play your hand you would have to throw in $1($1+$1=$2).....now just because your a blind doesnt mean you have to play that hand, if you have 7-2 off suit you can muck your hand(throw it away) and you would just end up losing your dollar, the same goes for big blind as well. Another thing you should know is, that when you are on the blinds, you dont nessacerly have to check(not make a bet) if you are small blind you can raise to pot limit( i call $1 and raise $3) which means the big blind would have to only call $2 because his big blind was at $2($2+$2=$4)......and again if the big blind didnt want to play he would fold his hands, and just end up losing his $2

    hope that helped.....
