Your mother's father would be your grandfather making you the grandchild. So how many chldren do you have?

It just a play on words. Try another one:

A man shows a picture for a random passerby. "I have neither sisters, nor brothers. The man in the picture, father is my father's son" Who is in the picture?

Its very badly written, your mother's father (ie your grandfather) may have many many granchildren- this only works if you are an only child, and your mother is an only child
