"Chris, I can't let you take my son.

Blood is thicker than water."

Blood...is...thicker...than...water??

Blood is a thick liquid. Water is thinner, clear. Also meaning the blood ties of a family.

Im not exactly sure what it means, but I'm going to guess.

She probably means that her son and her share the same blood, so that comes first. Also, they might have a stronger and thicker bond together than the son and chris.

I really cant give specifics but it literally means that people by blood kin are chosen before any one else when it all comes down to it.
