Can anyone explain this to me please?

both the planning and action stages of works of goodness or faith, we decide how much to give, how far to go. But in hindsight, what good thing have we ever done that qualifies for "above and beyond" our duty to God? Whatever it was, the Scriptures plainly show we were commanded to do it! It was our duty because we found it in our power to do it (Proverbs 3:27). We cannot take the attitude that, "We did these good things, so that makes us profitable to God." If we do, we have no basis for faith. Our faith would be in ourselves, not in God.

  1. what you say is true. all good works are to be done in love and love is not proud and does not boast. i can choose to serve God but God will lead my hands to the work to be done. if my hands do something they will mess it all up but if i allow God to move my hands it will come out beautiful.

when i look around i hear and see so many people doing things but not giving God the credit. no one but God can convert anyone, no one but God can fill any vessel, no one but God can do anything good. remember no on is good but God.

    Peace!!

  2. My friend you said it well enough, I totally agree.

  3. The Bible warns against getting caught up in your own self worth, taking pride in your charitable acts, and generally behaving holier-than-thou.
