This is actually and activity plan that will help foster understanding of outdoor ethics. Which also describes simple connections between the pants and animals of and ecosystem. Predict changes to an ecosystem that have been caused by human behavior, and tell how to choose behaviors that help protect natural resources (Connections to the natural world and understand how their behaviors can affect nature).

  1. this is the Creed that youth in SCOUTING are taught when we go out in nature whether for a hike or camping you leave no trace there fore no garbage, no fire pits, bathroom duties #2 is buried in a 'cat hole' not left on the ground in the open,no breaking of tree branches or turning over of stones when hiking ,when and if possible the bringing out of garbage left behind by others

  2. there are books on Amazon about this.  scouting manuals also have really good materials (both boy AND girl scouts)

  3. Elliots summary is perfect, I would like to add. I live in Australia and my wilderness is the great barrier reef. It is imperative not to TOUCH. If you are diving on the reef or walking the wonderful bush tracks. Plants in the bush or underwater need to be left alone. If people would stick to designated tracks or dive in designated areas and leave nature alone it might have a chance.

Too many come here and remove from the reef because it is pretty or interesting. It is not allowed but it still happens.

Has mankind become destroyer rather than caretaker?

  4. Yes, Leave No Trace simply means to not leave any traces where you go outdoors.  That means - no trash, no evidence of campfires, no cigarette butts, etc.  Its very easy to do.   Just cary a plastic bag with you in your pocket when you're outdoors.

I smoke cigarettes, build campfires, and cook meals when I'm outdoors, but I challenge anybody to find anything different than what was there before me.
