  1. A real number is a number whose root can have a value. For example, root over 2 will give a value of 1.414,but root over -2 cannot give any result. This is known as real number i.e. root over 2 will give a valid answer and so is a real number while root over -2 will give an invalid result,so its imaginary.

  2. A rational number is any number that can be expressed as a fraction using integers (whole numbers). So 1.5 is a rational number because it can be written as 3/2 but the square root of two (about 1.41) is not a rational number because it cannot be exactly written as an integer fraction.

Real numbers are all the numbers on a number line from minus infinity to plus infiinity. They include both rational and irrational numbers. Imaginary numbers are numbers are numbers that are not on the number line. For example the square root of minus one (I could tell you more about imaginary numbers but it gets complex)

  3. if i'm not mistaken rational numbers are those that can be written as a fraction so all whole numbers, fractions are rational. 0.33333 recurring is also considered as rational as it is 1/3 and so are some other decimals.

Irrational nos are nos that can't be written as fractions such as some never ending decimal

real numbers are all the numbers that you usually know like whole nos, fractions, decimals.... They include both rational and irrational numbers.. the only other type of numbers are called complex numbers.
