Can anyone explain why i am eight pounds lighter in the morning than i was the previous night ? ?

I'm trying to lose weight and I weigh myself when I get up in the morning. I am always lighter in the morning than during the day or the previous night... the scales have registered as much as eight pounds in the difference which seems excessive. Any ideas. Is this normal ?

  1. your food has digested. You are always lighter by a few times in the morning. When u start eating again, you're back to that weight you was yesterday. Also, all weighing scales measure differently. Most of them measure your weight a little differently then other weighing scales.


  2. you sweat at night and water vapour is released through your breath- plus if you g to the toilet before getting on the scales, you also loose fluid this way too.


  3. You should weigh yourself about every 4-5 days, and measue your weight gains/losses on a chart that can show an overall weight gain/loss accumulation. If you weigh yourself every day either morning or night make sure it is at the same time every day and only take the 1 mesurement, although the numbers become alot more complex as ur dealing with daily fluctiations. it is normal for the body to fluctuate between 1 and 5 pounds each day. An  example would be if you weighed youself at 8pm each night and recorded the results and then determined the pattern of weight loss/gain. (note: you may want to keep track of various information to make a critical and thurough analasys of your data, such as times of going to the bathroom what you had to eat that day or drink at what times, how much exercise and what type of exercise). This is general information and is meant for people who are healthy enough to try to either gain weight or lose weight or maintain weight! Check with your doctor before starting any weight loss, gain or maintanence programs!!!!
