Can anyone explain why it's impossible to distinguish evil from good unless one ...?

That is why I constantly RUN to "The Reference Point". (I cannot do 'it' myself!)  He sees way beyond what we can 'see' and I put my whole trust in Him!

It's not.  My good reference point may not be the same as others. We all could have our own God or point or w/e

That's why God gave you a point of reference down with in- your conscience. Evil tries to look like good but can never achieve it- if it looks to good to be true it usually is. God's word is what you use to tell if it is evil or it is not

It's not . You are misguided at best . Hedonism is evil because it is essentially selfishness . You don't have to be able to emphasise but consideration and respect for others until they show themselves to be enemy's is the base level if you believe humanity is more than animal .

Evil is just a perspective.

The idea of church and God is to separate the world into two sides of  good/evil, white/black, and right and wrong, fair and unfair, ect.

By making a division line between your ideals and your enemies, your side will always be the enlightened ones, the good ones, and the correct ones, whereas the opposition will always be considered evil, ignorant, unfaithful ect.

There is no good or evil, only people and what they choose to do. And not surprisingly, they chose to "divide and conquer" because of  the "if your not with me, your against me" type of thinking they have had sucess in teaching to their followers.

What a better way to fix an agenda than to "divide and conquer"?

Today most of what we face is from evil.  Satan is in charge of most of the things around us.  Political governments, social and most religious institutions, commercial interests are all under Satan's control as 1John 3:8 tells us.

With an over abundance of evil and only coming in contact with good influenced by evil, it is difficult to distinguish.

Think of it.  100s of thousands of religions can not possibly all be correct.  Why are they all here?  Because we humans have the desire to worship God.  Satan does not want that.  What does he do?  Distract and delude.  Distract people away from the true path by building 1,000s of other paths.  Delude by convincing people that whatever false path they are on is correct.

The true good path of God is outlined in the Bible.  Only the religion going strictly by the doctrines in the Bible is the correct one that pleases God.

The belief that it only matters what is pleasing to man is ridiculous.  What man has given anyone life?  What man has resurrected anyone to life?  We do not have the power.  So should not the idea be to go with the One that has that power?   Conform to His way and not our own?
