Can anyone explan rationally how Palin has more experience than Obama?

Seriously. 20 months as a governor of a state that has less inhabitants than the larger neighborhood Obama represented as a state senator. And before that, a mayor of a town of 9,000.

Obama has been an elected US Senator for four years, and an accomplished State Senator for six years before that.

Threegooofs, good luck on getting rational answers for his question. The city I live in has 300,000 more people that the entire state of Alaska. Beside fish and game regulations, how far ranging can Palin's experience be?

They can try, but not many will bite. But, there is a fool for every cause.

alaska is the same size as delaware, from where biden is from.  she has had to balance a state budget, negotiate on behalf of the state and has the final say on the states day to day business. obama has made no significant milestones as a senator and she has more time in elected office. obama has never run a business or been held bottom line accountable, he has never held any executive position in business or politics. and obama is running against mccain, bottom line is obama is not qualified.

She's been an executive.  She's had to make decisions and then defend them.  And, frankly, do it as a woman.  Obama voted on some things in the senate and maybe introduced some things, but he would never have to defend them.  He's never run anything and we have no clear idea how he would handle being under presidential pressure.

Sarah Palin has more experience than Barack Obama.

Her political career began in 1992 when she ran for city council.

She has served as a mayor for 6 years.

She has been governor of Alaska for 2 years.

In other words she has been a politician for 16 years and a leader for 8 years.

That's more experience than Obama's 2 years as a junior senator (not 4!) and 7 years as a state senator - 9 years altogether and no leading position. And more than half the time he has "served" a U.S. Senator he did not even show up for the sessions!

Its not experience alone but executive experience.  Running a state from the governor's position requires more decision making than from the position of a senator.  A senator's vote is only one of 50 others whereas the buck stops at the governor's mansion.

I'd take 20 months of executive leadership experience with decision-making responsibilities over Obama's 0 months. The president has very similar responsibilities over this country as a Governor has over their state.  They are the same types of positions. That's why experience as a governor is much more valuable than Senate experience. All a Senator does is show up (sometimes, though they don't have to) and vote on things passing before them. Of course they can create their own bills, but I don't believe that Obama has done much of that. Obama doesn't even have much experience in the Senate.

This doesn't get past the whole point of how Obama isn't running for VP. If he were, his inexperience would be more excusable.

obama was elected to the US senate for 4 years served 140 days, that is less than 6 mos. He has no decision making experience in either state or federal levels. He has no foreign experience. He has consorted with anti- Semites, felons, and terrorist. He is only a community organizer. Gov. Palin has dealt with the Russians over fishing boundaries, made decisions from day 1 as governor, cut government expenditures got rid of corruption within  the energy commission and her own party. She also has an 80% approval rating in her own state. BEAT THAT !!! And returned $1200 to every citizen of her state.

Fresh fish, and salmon come from Alaska. This state is ranked the

highest in air quality, and the best in water quality. It borders two

International country's. Canada and Mongolia. 20 % of this country's

oil comes from Alaska.

. As a gov. and A Mayor. you are mandated by charter and law to

balance your state and county and or city budget. She is the commander of the Alaska National Guard. Air and Army. She is

the overseer of the Alaska State Police. Bridges and Roads.

All state Agencys. Wich she has successfully done for her tenure

as mayor and now gov.

You say Barack was a successful State Senator. what did he do.

Was he physcially responsible for balancing the states budget NO.

Was he held accountable for it. NO. Has he ever been, NO. Obama

has spent 147 days actually on staff as a US Senator. So please

don't embarass yourself, He has not now nor has he ever been

elected to a posting of accountabilty. He has never managed or

been responsible for a d**n thing he has ever done in government.

A Senator does not execute government they are supposed to help

legislate laws for governement. As to which he has failed miserably

at doing voting present 192 times as opposed to taking a stand.

Saying simply Yes Or No. There is a huge difference in being

accountable and in charge. As opposed to just saying there in

charge. But then you knew that.

1 governors get more hands on experience than senators.

#2 Alaska might be a small state (by its low inhabitant number) but it is a state that requires a lot of work, from social, to employment, etc.

#3 her records show a HUGE amount of work she does not simply vote yes or no on a measure she actually produces the measure.

And finally and maybe the biggest reason ... SHE is NOT running for President ... Obama IS!
