Can anyone get profit with thier website

people im new to website world, for knowledge i would like to know about websites

people are building website for them and they publish too, what do they really gain by creating a website

1, do they earn money ?

2, offered online free shopping in sites like e-bay

3, get free account in entry-pay sites like rapidshare,megaupload or something like that

i really want to know coz many of my friends have websites of thier own and they never tell me the benefits and loss for them

are you asking what you gain by making a website?

Well it depends on the purpose of the website. Ex. I made a personal website for me so people can see my design work.

You can built a site for someone and that person can pay you to do it. Or build a site that sells a product. Really depends on the purpose of the site you make.

If them bulid web site for another ppl them earn money for that and if that web site for themself them need to working so hard to make them web site so famos and earn money of it. .. and maybe them have web site to have fun or to get girls or just to say we have web site looking at me iam celver and i have web site.

I don't thing them do that coz any body can to have account in e-bay and pay any thing he want it .

And you must know something maybe you're friend just used free web site and them not programming ... coz the programming is so diffrent than any one create just web site .

E-Commerce, gambling, gaming, advertising, rental, bookings, holidays etc... sites can make money from the transactions that take place on their site: it is no more than another shop front.

These are "Business sites".: they make money by selling goods.

Information sites, like directories or wikipedia do not make money, but are patronised by large companies that pay for the development and maintenance of the sites.

Personal websites cost money to be put up and bring absolutely nothing! (not even visitors others than friends and familly) - and should be removed from the web: they are clogging the net for no purpose.

VERY FEW websites "make money" (1 out of 100,000? - if that - )
