Can anyone give examples of countries that don't allow immigration at all and the affects on their economy?

While I am not sure if my answer is textbook accurate, I can think of two off the top of my head; Cuba and North Korea.

Both of those countries economies are likely small economies due to other factors than immigration, such as communist government, embargoes, and lack of trade; however the lack of immigration policy may play into it as well.

When a country doesn't allow immigration, they often do not get skilled, educated workers bringing technological and professional growth, but rather rely on their own school systems to produce these things, which is not as effective.

austrailia (im not sure if that is a country/continent because im kind of an idiot sometimes lol, but just an example of what your question is).... you cant visit there more that 6 mos at a time and only two 6 month trips in your whole life unless you marry someone there.

Well, I can mention, as Dave D already said, it is not that Cuba does not allow immigration, it is that practically ALL OF THE INHABITANTS are desperate to get out.

Nobody in their right minds would immigrate to Cuba, unless they have a very especial agreement with fidel or the little bruder, like being were comunists or something like that

When I came here I was surprised to see so many people that I knew and had not seen in years. It was like being back in Cuba. Even professors of mine

As Dave D said, scientists, professors, engineers, architects, etc, etc, are always trying to escape and the country loses these profesionals.

Talk about "escape of minds"

I don't think there are any countries who won't allow immigration, but some countries (like Mexico) will imprison those who enter their country illegally.

I also believe North Korea doesn't allow any immigration at all.

Luxembourg and Japan have their laws that prevent immigration as well.

The economy fluctuates all the time. But, immigration helps the people in their own country because they send most of their money over there.  Some families with nothing will have money to buy things they need, which helps the economy. I'm pretty sure it's always been that way.
