  1. I am in 10th grade, and I am using Abeka books. They are fabulous! I have used other curriculums in the past, and Abeka is my favorite out of them all.

  2. Well, if you're looking for Christian materials, then A Beka Book out of Pensacola, Florida should be a good one. However, going from ACE to Beka will probably be a big leap. ACE's stuff is a little too easy for the average kid. I easily passed all of my stuff when I did ACE two years ago. I am now doing Landmark Freedom out of Haines City, Florida, but the answer key has been wrong on many occasions, so we are not very happy with Landmark or ACE.

A friend of our family said ACE-er's are not ready for college when they graduate from high school.

  3. If you're looking for another workbook type program, here's a good list:

  4. Depends on your background.

    Some do Geometry 1-2

Algebra 3-4 can also be done

If you've already done Geometry, Trig

    Advanced world history

    Vocabulary

English Grammar and by 10th I'd start learning some of the varied report styles like APA

Literature, I'd read some current best sellers at the library.

You should have completed Biology 1-2 if not you do them

If you have biology out of the way Chemistry or Physics

Some form of fine arts or crafts.  Learning an instrument, drawing, buliding a dog house

  5. www.k12.com

  6. I very very highly recommend the IGCSE, UK-based, international curriculum. That's what I'm doing. I won't go into the details here, but here is the link to the site- it explains everything. If you have any questions feel free to contact me!

  7. I have been HS for the past 20 years (wow!) and used the ACE program for my high schoolers.  It was easy for them to be self motivated too!   The three that have graduated so far all were done ahead of time.  My number three dd is in her 2nd year of college and had no problems with her credits using ACE.

3 down just 5 more to go!!  Good Luck!!

  8. I recommened   Penn - Foster.  It is accredited.  100% important.  ACE will not be recieved at a college or military service or anywhere for that matter that says you have to have a high school diploma.  Your children will have to get a G.E.D.  Penn - Foster will be accepted because they are a satelite school of an actual High School.  You can do this online and/or books.  You have access to both.  They keep track of everything you need. Also, they have teachers that can help if you need it...

If you had to put them back in High School for any reason homeschooling isn't always accepted there either you child may have to start high school over or take a test to find placement.
