  1. Both previous answers were good, but should you need more information check a library or bookstore for:

Conformity and Conflict: Readings in Cultural Anthropology (12th ed or newer) by Spradley and McCurdy

Article 35 is a study by Sonia Patten who is part of a team introducing milk to MAlawi villagers for the first time (for nutrition) but it goes into great detail and is an easy read.

You might also look up Sonia Patten to find this study elsewhere (college library article database.... or Wikipedia lol)

  2. A medical anthropologist might study the social and cultural factors that contribute or inhibit the spread of bird flu.

Medical anthropologists have studied g*y video rental establishments to figure out what kinds of sexual acts go on inside in order to figure out what diseases are being transmitted .

  3. A great example of applied anthropology is the work that is being done among the Eastern Cherokee Band. The obesity rate is higher among North Carolina's Cherokees than among surrounding non-Cherokee groups. Also, diabetes is much more common among the Cherokee as well. Therefore, a diabetes prevention program was initiated headed by anthropologists and other experts. Here's the link.
