I'm trying to loose some weight and I'm already exercising but I would quite like a rough eating plan (I'm vegetarian) so any ideas?

Thanks

  1. Just try to stay around 1400 cals a day. For example, 300cal bfast, 100cal snack, 300 cal lunch, 100 cal snack, 500 cal dinner, and 100 cal snack. THat is the eating program I have been following for about a month and I have lost 15 lbs. Just make sure you eat every few hours (6 smaller meals a day). That will help your metabolism.

Also, here are a few good vegitarian recipes I have tried:

    Fast Feta Pizza

Prep Time: 5 minutes or less

    Total Time: 15 minutes

    Ingredients

    # 1/2 tomato, medium

    # 4 olives, black

    # 1/2 ounce feta cheese, low-fat

    # 1/2 tablespoon hummus (purchased or fresh)

    # 1/16 pizza crust, frozen

    # 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried

    # 1/2 teaspoon olive oil, extra virgin

    Preparation

    # Pre-heat oven to 425°F.

    # Slice tomatoes and olives.

    # Crumble cheese.

    # Spread hummus over pizza crust. Top with tomato and olive slices and crumbled cheese.

    # Sprinkle oregano over the top.

    # Bake for 8-12 minutes; or until crust is at desired crispness.

    # Remove from oven and drizzle olive oil on top.

    #

    Vegetable Bean Enchilada

    Prep Time: 10 minutes

    Total Time: 35 minutes

    Ingredients

    # 2 baby carrots

    # 1/2 teaspoon olive oil, extra virgin

    # 1/8 onion, white, whole

    # 5 slices jalapeno

    # 1/8 cup crushed, canned tomatoes

    # 1/8 teaspoon salt

    # 3 tablespoons beans, white

    # 1 tortilla, corn, 4.5"

    # 1/2 ounce cheese, colby & monterey jack, reduced fat, shredded

    # 1 tablespoon chili peppers, jalapeno

    Preparation

    # Pre-heat stovetop to medium-high heat.

    # Slice carrots length-wise.

    # Add oil to pan. Add sliced carrots and 1/4 cup water to the pan. Stir frequently; cook for 5 minutes or until at desired tenderness.

    # Chop onion, pepperand tomatoes. Add these vegetables to the pan with carrots.

    # Pre-heat oven to 350°F.

    # Mash beans with the back of a spoon.

    # Place half the crushed beans and half of the vegetables into each tortilla.

    # Sprinkle cheese and green chilies into each tortilla.

    # Roll up the tortillas and place them seam-side down into the baking dish.

    # Cover and bake for 10-15 minutes or until bubbly.

  2. You first of all want to lift weights(you might think that is for guys) but it really helps women get toned...you won't bulk up like a guy would.

Second, you want to eat a lot of protein which will help you get full on low calories.

Your just vegetarian right not vegan??

    High protein foods:

Greek yogurt(really good and a lot better for you than reg. yogurt)

Cottage cheese is really high in protein

    Eggs

    Milk

    Peanut Butter

    Some energy bars and cereal

You want to eat these types of things right after a workout too because you build the most muscle after lifting.

of course you will want to do some cardio too such as jogging for 30 min or eliptical machines....anything to burn a couple hundred calories. This is going to make a big difference.

Counting calories is annoying, but if you eat healthy things you will cut back your calories and fat A LOT and you might not need to count. Eat fruits/vegetables whenever you feel hungry....and the protein snacks for little meals.

    Ex. of a day.

Wake up, eat breakfast for SURE. (whole grain cereal is good for you or oatmeal)

If you eat early, have a snack before lunch such as a cottage cheese

lunch=peanut butter on whole wheat bread with a fruit

1 hr before working out= light snack and some water (eat some carbs before a workout)

Workout either arms for the day or legs for the day (20 min.)

    Cardio for 30 min.

(change the times according to your fitness level,,,just do what you can every bit makes the difference!)

Immeditatley after workout= water and a light snack full of protein (you can also drink protein shakes)

Dinner= I usually skimp a little on calories more throughout the day so i can eat whatever my mom cooks.

Dessert=Frozen yogurt, a scoop of ice cream, (anything thats less than 150 calories)

But remember.....Never go below 1200 calories...its not good for you and it will s***w with your metabolism. If you eat the right things you will shed pounds with exercise included.

Push yourself to as far as you can go, but not beyond because you dont want to hurt yourself!!!

    Good luck!!!!!

  3. I f you are a vegetarian you need to substitute meats for mycoprotein(Quorn) and pulses( plants that grow like beans and pods like nuts). You need to eat a lot of fruits , cut down on salts because they can cause cramps while exercises. Drink a lot of water and eat a lot of starchy foods(pasta). Also drink soya milk instead of other milks, because their made from (pulses).
