The Bible does NOT say women should not own property.

In fact, Ruth 4:9 and Acts 5:1 both speak of women owning property.

Read the Bible again because your misquoting it. Women spend money, pay taxes and take care of children, husband, finances and property in most cases better then men.

If you want to take the Bible literally by your own interpretation, that is fine.  In this day and age, women have rights too, and that includes owning property if they choose.

Because women are equal in the eyes of the law. The law was formulated to serve everyone equally. The Bible was written thousands of years ago by male scribes in a patriarchal society which did not afford equal status to women or people from other religions. Biblical standards are not appropriate in terms of legislation for a modern diverse egalitarian society.
