I have home insurance and not sure if i am getting good value for money. Does anyone have home insurance, and what company is good for value, and particularly for coverage.

I think i am paying too much for too little coverage only goes up to £25,000 and that i don;t think is nearly enough.

tried looking on line but i haven't found that all that helpful. And what i don't want is them phoning me, because i have had that before, where they pester you, so straightforward house contents, in case of the usual, theft, fire, contents, any information would be most useful

thank you

  1. If it is bog standard cover you need, try somewhere like Go Compare.

If you need a sum insured guide there is one on our website under Premier clients .

  2. No one here knows what is in your house. You should take an inventory of the things you own and assign them a value. There is software available on the internet to download for a small fee that will assist you with taking an inventory. But like I said earlier, unfortunately, no one here is able to tell you the value of your stuff.

I would suggest that at the very least you inventory any high value items, such as jewelry, fur, fine arts, etc. Typically, on a contents policy, there are very low limits that an insurance company will pay out for those items. Make sure your sublimits for those items are adequate and if necessary, pay a little extra premium to specifically schedule any high value items.
