  1. training is one thing.. learning how to ride is another. bike wise, you proabbly want too start with a bike, that is too powerful for you, only cause in a couple weeks you well be use too it and be using all the power, starting out with nothin, is kinda expensive, you have too buy your gear, protection, helmet, boots, and your bike..the better quality stuff you buy, the more safe you will be. also go to any dirt bike shop, "where they sell bikes" and ask for a saftey course guide.. itsan all day class in hollister, cost about 100 bucks.. but its a great class.

  2. There is one place where you can learn about motocross, go to this site, http://ama-cycle.org and look for the rule book, it will give you all the information you will need.

  3. Find out what local clubs you have close by and either go along on a race day or contact the club secretary for information about racing.  Find out what sections you would be entitled to race for your age group and ask a few questions about what bikes the people in those sections tend to have.

The local clubs will also be able to tell you if they have any club coaches and how much they charge.  The country I am in it is mandatory for all juniors (assuming you are a junior) to have done 5 hours of coaching before they can get a licence to race and because of this the club has coaching days which cost nothing for the juniors to attend.  But then they are only run by a level one coach so only the basics get taught as it is not hard to get a level one coaching licence. Then you get into higher level coaching and a 2 days school costs around $200 but that is in Australia.  Some people have individual lessons which usually cost about $60 to $70 an hour if it is with a top coach.

But of course that is where I live and it may be completely different where you are so that is why it would be best to speak to the local clubs and ask.

Make sure you have all the protective gear to be as safe as possible and before even thinking about racing make sure you are comfortable on the track with other bikes around you.

    Good luck

  4. Well first you need to learn to ride and get a bike. A used motorcycle can cost anywhere from $1000-$3000 dollars depending on the size. Gear will cost at least $300 dollars. If you want to be safe you will get a full set which costs more. Training, is easy when you can have someone with you that knows how to ride and can teach you. To find motocross tracks near you, type "motocross tracks in (your city), (your state)" onto Google Maps. It comes up with the tracks in your area. It listed all the tracks I know of, for my area. Depending where you live, you might not have a lot or any.

Race fees depend on the track. Tracks in my area (Sac., CA) are 30-50 dollars for one day race class entry. $10 for a gate fee, and you need to add the money for gas.
