Have the boardgame Risk and would love to know how to play it, but the instructions look horrendous. Can anyone tell me in simple terms how to do it please?

Thanks

Ok... how to do it please?

  2. Risk is all about armies which players are given a set amount. You divide the cards for territory after shuffling them first. These determine where your armies can be placed. Cards with canons, soldiers and I can't remember the other, are won if you conquer one territory against an opponent. The idea is to gain Continents as after each round you gain extra armies if you control one or more..These are listed at the foot of the board.

If you defend and score on the dice is equal to that of the attacker..i.e; if he throws a 5, and you throw a five, then he loses a soldier/army...However if he has more armies he throws more dice and stands more chance to win. If you both throw two dice then both scores count..I.E; if he throws 6+4, and you throw 5+5.....then you both lose an army...as 6 beats 5 and 5 beats 4...

However the attacker must have two or more armies to attack..and with only two armies he is limited to one dice...If you have two armies defending you may use two dice to defend.

The cards gained from a victory(gaining a territory) are taken from the top of the deck after these have been initially shuffled, therefore you don't know which card you will get.

This is from memory but hope it helps!
