Can anyone give me an in depth description on how to put backspin on a cue ball after it hits naother ball?

To put "english" on a cue ball you first have to decide what you want the cue ball to do after hitting your object ball. To get it to backup straight, you hit towards the bottom middle of the cue ball. The angle you hold your cue will give the ball the correct movement. Hitting the cue ball low right will cause the ball to spin off backwards and to the right. Knowing how hard to hit it takes practice. If you want the cue to move forward after hitting an object ball you hit the cue ball high.
