Question:

Can anyone give me any examples of cotton-top tamarin abuse?

The primary threat to the endangered cotton-top tamarin is deforestation but there is another, directly under our control: the pet trade. I have done a ton of research, contacted many people and still can't find an isolated example of this species being abused as a pet. Abuse is happening; it's just not being recorded. I'm trying to expose it and need evidence. Can anyone help?

  1. what kind of help do you need?

  2. Um, it's not so much abuse of the pets in captivity.  It's the taking of them from the wild to turn into pets.  That makes the wild ones even more endangered.  They are seperate issues.  Pet abuse is really important to expose but for this species, it's the pet market itself that is threatening the wildlife.  Keep up your good work though.
