Can anyone give me any info on behavioral centers, boot camps, or ect for problem youth?

I am not certain boot camp is the answer for problem youth.You know a youth got killed

by one of the counslors or drill sargent in

florida about a year and half ago. Also they

tell these kids how worthless they are,that is

certainly not good for building self esteem.

I was in a boarding school for LD kids and all

I heard was a POS I was everyday.How did

that help me.

Talk to the local family court and check and see if there is a mental health board in your area. Good luck finding anything that is nt\ot cost prohibitive.

Camp Nuhop in Ohio is good summer camp for kids with behavior issues. They have a website and I know there are others out there.

I am a strong advocate AGAINST boot camps, they are staffed with people who are not professionals trained in psychotherapy, child psychopathology, nor crisis intervention. They are usually ex milatary, law enforcement, or corrections officers. They do not understand the etiology of psychopathology or behaviors. I would reccommend you finding a trained psychologist with experience in children to conduct a psychological evaluation. This will help clarify the cause of the behavior. I recommend starting a behavioral log of his beheviors; including date, time, what happened before, during, and after the behavior was displayed.
