Can anyone give me any info on the "METAL MAN" in stroove, ireland?

There is a Metal Man on a rock in the sea at Rosses Point Co Sligo about 5 miles from Sligo town. He was put there to help with navigation. I think it was about 1812. He appears to be dressed in naval uniform. Might this be the Metal Man you are talking about?
