My family has to get the train from Cardiff to London to then catch the train to Paris. Any information on which stations are involved and the approximate time it takes?

  1. The trains run from Cardiff Central to London Paddington, and take about 2:10.  There's lots of trains, one every half hour.

When you get to Paddington, take the Hammersmith and City underground line toward Edgeware Rd, get off at Kings Cross/St Pancras, takes 17 minutes. Or if you have several people and luggage, take a taxi which (unless you have a Oyster card) will probably be cheaper.

  2. Cardiff Central(Downtown Cardiff) to London Padington is a frequent service  but it very pricy and is cheaper by bus, car or plane from Cardiff Int to Heathrow then to the London International train station. It would be cheaper and eiser to get a plane from Cardiff International Airport to Paris as its only about £15 one way per person. The train to just London is around £35 one way for a child!

  3. The train answers were correct - but you can get the Megabus much more cheaply (sometimes less than £10) and it takes about 2.5 - 3 hours (my son gets it when he comes down from Uni in London back home to Cardiff).
