Nowadays there are tons of discount offers from Buenos Aires to Bariloche. There are airlines like LanChile, Austral, Aerolineas which go everyday to Bariloche.

No, there are no chickens on the bus! This is not a forsaken town in the middle of a jungle!

If you are going by bus you will probably travel by night so pay a little extra and go in a coche cama (seat/bed)

However, in less than an hour you can be there by plane and there are some very cheap air tickets now

You should fly. It's like 24 hours by bus. They can be quite comfortable if you get cama or semi-cama
