Can anyone give me some information about the HOPE scholarship?

I need to know:

Can I apply for it right now being a junior in high school? if not when?

When are you notified that you have recieved the scholarship if you are awarded it?

It's not a scholarship in that sense of the word.  It's a write off that your parents will receive on their taxes for the FIRST two years of college IF they claim you as a dependent.  If YOU claim yourself, you get to take the credit.  

After the first two years, it switches to the Lifetime Learning Credit.  That one you could use indefinetely.

No need to apply for it.
