  1. I have a Plecostamus (Pleco) it does a very good job. I have very aggressive fish, 3 full grown piranha's and they do not bother him at all. He keeps my tank exceptionally clean as well.

  2. Well Chinese algae eater is one of the most popular ones.

  3. Corydoras (Cory Cats), Plecosthemus (Plecos), and Chinese Algae eaters. These are all commonly available in most fish stores.

  4. African algae eaters are good and I love plecos.  My sister has a huge pleco, he owns the tank.  He is a character too.

  5. Oto catfish. They are actually a miniture species of pleco and are good algae eaters. You need to keep them in a group, but thats no problem in a 90gal tank.

Bristlenose Pleco. Unlike the Common pleco species they dont grow huge, and are also good algae eaters.

There are over 500 species of Pleco, but most of them are not readily available. Avoid the cute little common plecos that are sold as 'algae eaters'. They are great when they are small, but eventually you end up with a foot long pooping bulldozer in your tank. I have a 12" Sailfin pleco here, great fish, and would be fine in your 90gal, but not the look you are going for.

    Other options,

Siamese Algae eaters (NOT Chinese ones) The Chinese algae eaters grow large and get agressive eventually.

Hillstream Loaches may work, but they prefer cooler water and more current than most tropicals.

  6. i dont know the real name just the nick name

    pleco

they seem to do really well with my 10 gallon tank.

i also have a snail and they help also just make sure not to get too many snails other wise they can start breeding and becoming a really annoying problem.

but i suggest a pleco, and for a 90 gallon i say one thats like medium or large sized, idk about this part, ask your local fish store associate about that.

  7. Sea Slugs

  8. plecostamus (sp?) are awesome.
