Can anyone give me some tips on how to teach my son how to dive,?

Unless you are a diver yourself, get him some lessons. It's easier to learn correctly than to try and overcome bad habits.

That said, if you're just trying to teach him a safe way to get into the water, and not do racing dives or board dives, start him at the edge of the pool in the deep water section, hands above his head with his thumbs together, bend forward from the waist and simply fall into the water.

If he's learning to dive from a raft or somewhere outdoors, the first lesson is always find out how deep the water is. One of the tragic, outcomes of kids diving into unknown waters is spinal cord injuries, so make sure he always knows he's diving at a safe depth and that there are no hidden hazards.
