  1. Canon IXUS 960 IS

  2. Good Question, there are many good digital cameras that are in the beginner category. Kodak, Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Minolta etc. There's all kinds of cameras. However for the little point and shoot camera, i would definately go with the canon brand, it's one i semi-trust. I would go with:

    The canon powershot s5

    the canon powershot s3

    the canon powershot s2

    the canon powershot a570IS

    the canon powershot a550

    the canon powershot a560

    The canon powershot a580

    and the list goes on..

go to http://amazon.com to search for these, and other great cameras.

If you're interested in going into digital single lens reflex photography, you should go with:

    the canon xt

    the canon xti

    the nikon d40

    the nikon d40x

    the nikon d50

    the canon xsi

go to http://amazon.com, for more information about cameras of all sorts

  3. That depends on how advanced you are planning to get... if you plan on sticking with something simple then a point and shoot, if you plan on advancing then get a dslr.

Canon Powershot SD750 is a good point and shoot.

Canon Rebel XTi is a good entry level DSLR.

  4. go for one with the highest pixels you can afford they are the same basically otherwise

  5. most of kodaks are fine for starters...

  6. olympus mju--so simple to use+not bad photos--my first when i was 12!!

  7. I have a Cannon Powershot - it takes fabulous pictures and is so easy to use.  It can be used as a point and shoot camera but also has plenty of manual features so you can really experiment.
