  1. lucky for u i just stayed there i got back sunday night.. its in condado. its almost across the street from the beach... (its a small one tides kinda hard too) there is another beach thats a ten minute walk from the hotel thats better. The area is nice... lots of resturants, gift shops, stores u are next door to gucci, and 5 mins from walgreens (i was there almost every day)  we rode the bus everywhere 75 cents.

  2. Go to TripAdvisor.com to find past-guest reviews on hotels and resorts, along with destination guides and forums.

  3. First of all don't listen to IMACHEF. He NEVER lived in Puerto Rico. He hates puerto ricans for some reason so he comes on here & talks trash. He may have visited San Juan before, although I doubt it, but he has never lived here. He doesn't know anyhting about PR.

Anyway the Holiday Inn is pretty nice. Isla Verde has the best beaches in San Juan. Of course there are much better beaches outside San Juan if you choose to go, go to Flamenco in Culebra or Vieques. But San Juan is a very cool fun city. & 4th of July in Pr is great b/c PR is a US commonwealth so the 4th is celebtrated here too.  & the nightlife is great. Drinking is 18+ but some places require 21+.

  4. I actually stayed there once a few years ago.  It's ok as a hotel, but a little run down.  It needs updating, in the lobby and the rooms.  It wasn't terrible, but I've been to better motel 6's in the states.  A much better suggestion is the Dominican Republic, especially Punta Cana.  For what you will pay to stay in Puerto Rico in a dumpy hotel, you can stay at an all inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic, which is the next to Puerto Rico in the Caribbean.  The dominican hotels and resorts are sooooo much better than the hotels in PR, and a h**l of a lot better priced.  The people there are very friendly to Americans, and the US dollar goes much further in the Domincan Republic than in Puerto Rico.  A good all inclusive resort there is call Fiesta Bavaro in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

  5. Although I dont know if IMACHEF hates PR or whatever, I must say that he is very wrong about choosing Dominican Republic as a better vacation spot than Puerto Rico.  If you want to spend your whole vacation in a resort, then go ahead, but if you want to have fun and be free to explore the island and all that it has to offer, PR wins hands down.

As far as your question, in my opinion, it doesnt really matter where you stay.  If you're like me, you wont be seeing your room much anyway lol.  I spent time on beautiful beaches, snorkeling, sunbathing, jet skiing, and relaxing all day and then at night, I hit Old San Juan (which is about a15 minute drive from Isla Verde) for its night life.  Tons of beautiful women and you will definitely have a great time.

  6. Tripadvisor.com is your best bet for answers and you will get an general idea on what you really looking for.

Condado and Isla verde is next to each other and may be 7 minute bus ride or less depending on traffic. Old San Juan has the nicest nigh life, but then again so is Isla Verde. It may be hard to tell since every one has different taste and style.

The good thing about going to Puerto Rico is you don't have to worry about the food because it is very good. Travel anywhere else and you may need a gallon of Pepto Bismol!
