Can anyone give me tips how make business contact in other cities?

I have a new home business that is going rather well. Its a small retail biz and I want to send business cards and info packs to future consumers /business. I am working to build a website , cant use it yet. How do I go about finding the right contacts in outlying cities in other states? I sell pet treats, I dont have a problem shipping. Thankyou!!!!

Before you go out of your way and start sending out all this information, you may just want to start off with mailing full color postcards, which will save you on postage like crazy. Once you get them to call you, send out the interested parties the whole sample package thing.

Set up profiles on social networking sites:

etc.

Then you can start meeting people based on criteria such as cities.

Regarding businesses you can look at yellowpages.com for some. Contact the local chamber of commerce to purchase a members list. You could go to their website. Sometimes the member information is on their site and you can just download it. I am actually interested in the treats. (not for me :). Thanks.
