  1. B.A. only shows you have communication skills.  You may get an entry level clerk/reception offer if previous employment had

paid experience in related field.  Sheep shearing might jump to answering phones for a Vet' or Agri-Business.  Post-grad's

get the better offers.  Smarter folks work for free in student

years at potential future employment to have a history before

the degree ink is dry.  Go soldier and learn something more.

If desperate try the State Department of Corrections.

  2. Well, ditch the internet sites, they might be helpful but they are only about 2-3% effective.

Get a copy of What color is your Parachute, I've used this over the years to help adjust my career whenever I want or need to change employers.

Particularly the last 1/2 of the book is ESSENTIAL reading for younger workers. I wish I had read it when I was your age.

It seems a bit dated in some areas and it is, but it's also WELL worth it to do the exersizes.

Go to your local colleges (even if you didn't graduate from there) and ask about resources for employment or internships.

I found an internship at my local school INVALUABLE when I was couple of years younger (19-21), and it helped pay my way through school. It led directly to a job which paid pretty well.

Second bit of advice, WORK your resume, Be ruthless always and DO NOT embellish or exaggerate your work.

Detail experiences and individual projects you have accomplished over time if you don't have any/alot of work experience.

The internships or very low-priced entry jobs are always helpful you ensure that this is what you in fact want to do.

    Good Luck

  3. I wouldn't recommend relying only on Internet advertisments.

There's nothing wrong with them but a lot of companies prefer to hire using staffing companies and don't advertise job openings. I'm in the accounting field and have had good luck with Robert Half and AccounTemps. I also signed up with Ajilon Finance, Kelly and RemX. Look into what's in your area.

The recruiters there can offer you tips and send your resume to employers who are in the market for someone with your degree. One of the companies even gave me suggestions on how to spruce up my resume and they don't charge you a fee for their services. The employer pays them.

Feel free to email me if you'd like to hear more.

    Good luck!

  4. Perhaps you have any friends that work in a sector related to your degree? If so, see if they can get you an interview or the hook up. Unfortunately in our world it is all about connections and network. I wish you the best!

  5. get a cashiers or other menial job at Wal Mart..with your Quals you will be in the Mangement Program in 6 mos...be a store Mgr in two years....thats good bucks for maybe 3 years work up time

  6. Yes! Buy the book knock em dead. It taught me EVERYTHING about getting a job- clothing, what to say, where to look, etc.
