I play on a 8th grade volleyball team, we just found out last Friday who made the team, and only 3 people got cut and now there's 17 people on just OUR team. I'm kind of upset about this. My coach wants to play me in 5th quarter (Extra half so that people who didn't play the other parts get to play. Also known as the loser quarter.) just because I bought a locker. Now, she told me that the lockers would be given to me if I made the team, but I had never bought a locker and just waned to. So she talked to me that day asking if I wanted to play and then called my mom (My mom is a teacher also.) to see if I wanted to play, as if I lied to her. And she also brought onto the team 3 girls who I don't think are that good. 2 can't bump the ball at all, or try to dive when it's right in front of them and one cracks under pressure in a game. I mean, I'm not Walsh, but I can get it over the net. Does anyone have any tips on how I can just get it out of my head and want to play the game I love?

  1. It's only an 8th grade volleyball team don't be so competitive just enjoy the game. Wait until your in high school to be so competitive.

  2. On a team no single person is better than another. You win as a team, you lose as a team, and you mess up as a team. The 3 girls that are not as good in your opinion probably love the game just as much or more than you so you should respect them and try to help and encourage then as much as possible. Who knows, maybe they just need a little encouragement to come out of their shell and become a great player. Give them a chance and think about it as if you were one of them.

    Good luck this season! =]

  3. Dont listen to Gunit. Play hard. I played club in 8th grade last year and people give it their all. Just play your best, try to ignore those other girls so you can earn your spot on the first roster. :) Good luck!
