Can anyone help ...I am unable to record on brand new DVD-RW discs?

I have had my DVD Video recorder for about a year and never had problems recording until I exchanged my much used discs and bought new ones. During the past week, I have tried several brands and had no luck in recording on any of them. The disc seems to load normally, then when it finishes formatting a message appears on the screen that reads ''Recording Error Can Not record on this disc'' and there's an error number E4 5403730. I looked in the owners manual and it says

''You are trying to record on to a disc which is unrecordable, or whose status does not satisfy recording requirements.'' Whatever that means! My DVD Video Recorder is a Toshiba D-R160SB, I have looked on their website but no luck there either, just states the same as the manual. I saved one of my 'old' DVD-RW discs and it still works perfectly. I was told at the video store I bought the last unsuccessful batch that as long as they are DVD-RW they should be compatible. Help! Missing all my favourite programmes.

Three options.

1. Your DVD recorder is knacked

2. You are using the wrong discs - most DVD recorders use DVD +

3. DVD - (minus) do not work on all DVD recorders

Are you sure you are using the right type of discs, as DVD-RW discs can't be used on all DVD recorders. Check your manual to see what discs are compatible with your DVD recorder. Another reason could be because your DVD player has broken - you could ring up the manufacturers for help. Also, the recording discs you are using might be faulty or scratched so they become unrecordable. Hope this helps.

Do you have  a DVD-RW on your PC. If so just open up windows media player, add what you want to burn,enter blank disk and click on burn. You may have a problem with the old one, so delete it in programs and features and down load, then install this one.
