  1. You will need:

    1. ballet slippers (I recommend leather split sole)

    2. black leotard (I recommend cami)

    3. pink tights (I love the body wrappers brand)

    4. water bottle

    5. hair ties/hair nets/bobby pins

    6. tan leotard (for performances when you have to wear costumes)

There is so much to know about beginning ballet...too much to say on here. It's something you almost just need to experience for yourself. It is so much fun and its the type of dance where you can just be yourself and let yourself shine. Don't be afraid if you mess up for the first few times...actually for the first several months! : P Ballet is hard...but everyone who is at your academy realizes that and will not care if you mess up. Don't worry about what others think. Just dance your heart out. : )

  2. well, if the dance academy has a dress code, that is important, but if you can't find out what it is generally you'd wear Pink Footed tights (its more professional to wear footed) A black leotard and pink ballet shoes (im guessing you are not doing pointe but if you are then pointe shoes) You are going to have to put a lot of hard work in, but I think that dancing is one  of the best things in the world, so I hope you like it! Good Luck and have FUN!!

  3. pretty much everyone got it.

    -leotard for sure

    -pink tights

-and probably your hair in a bun

you should ask the studio tho, just to be sure.

also be prepared to work muscles you never knew you had!

  4. grats on starting on ballet!

i'm sure before you start they'll tell you what exactly it is you need, because since it is ballet, they will be strict about what it is that you wear.  more than likely though it will be black leotard and pink tights, hair in a bun, leather or canvas ballet slippers, the leather slippers make your feet work harder.

once you've started, begin stretching outside of class to increase flexibility.

  5. You should first give them a call to see what their policy is like.

I've taken classes at a studio where we were required to have a black leotard, pink tights, hair in a bun. I've also had classes at a local college where we just had to have tights, a leotard and our hair pulled back. Everyone has their own difference opinions on what you should be wearing...but a black leotard and pink tights are probably perfect. (Even when I can wear other stuff, I usually end up with pink and black because it makes me feel more like a ballerina.) As far as skirts/shorts, it totally depends on the teacher. I like wearing dance shorts (tight fitting black), but more conservative teachers will not allow them.

You will definitely need ballet shoes, pink is a safe bet. My favorite style of shoe is a split sole (which most of my teachers agree is the best for showing off the foot) leather...although it's more expensive than canvas.

There's not much you need to do to prepare for your first class. Maybe just work on doing some leg stretches so that your first class isn't as taxing on your muscles.

    Have fun!!! :]

  6. every studio has a dress code so you'll have to call them and ask what it is but most studios say a black leotard & pink ballet tights & pink ballet shoes & hair in a bun you can find every thing you will ever need here http://www.discountdancesupply.com/ be happy =^..^=

  7. You should buy ballet shoes and jazz shoes maybe... f u want...

    and some leotards......

  8. You'll need:

    A leotard

Leather or canvas soft ballet slippers

    Tights

You can buy these items at a dance specialty store, hope this helps!

  9. well of course you need to check to see if they have a uniform with like colours or anything but usually you need a leotard some times a special dance skirt, leather ballet shoes, you should tye your hair up and no jewlry...

you may want to streach regually if you want to increase your flexibility

  10. Well you'll PROBABLY need

    Ballet Slippers (leather or canvas)

    Leotard (probably black)

    Tights (most likely pink)

Warmups ( leg warmers, sweat pants, cardigan)

    Water bottles (hydrate)

Your studio might require mre or less!
