I'm 17 years old and have been educated in one of the best schools in the country for the past 6 years. I got three A's and a B in my AS level exams and am predicted 3 A's next year.

I'm most probably going to go to university to study english or history to a degree level, however, this is only to appease my father and justify the school fees he has spent on me.

My real desire is to learn to be a chef, i've had an aptitude for cooking from a early age and i've always loved to experiment with flavours, ingredients and make tasty food for my family and friends to try.

I've watched hundreds upon hundreds of cooking programs (not the rubbish celebrity chef kind however) and am thoroughly interested in every aspect of cooking from, the technical abilities required inside a kitchen to the actual method of cooking e.t.c.

All i want to do is learn to become a chef, and eventually work in a good london restaurant, its my passion and although i'm currently forced to do otherwise, this is what i really want to do.

I fully realize that , i will have to start from the bottom e.g. dish washer , vegetable chopper e.t.c. but i am completely prepared to do this and to do anything i'm told in the kitchen environment.

If anyone knows of anyway or anywhere i could go to get involved in this or has any tips , i would appreciate them greatly.

Thanks ,peace

Hari

  1. Work part time in restaurants while you finish your degree.  There will no doubt be dozens around any major university.   After you finish, you're free to attend a culinary school.

    Good luck!
